Communication Technologies

ATG specializes in the engineering, installation and maintenance of Intelligent Building Connectivity (IBC) solutions and infrastructures for a variety of structured cabling system topologies.

Proper engineering, implementation, and maintenance of the IBC infrastructure are critical to support current and future voice, data and video technologies. ATG is experienced in the successful installation of sophisticated, forward-thinking solutions, working with a multiplicity of media, including:

Copper Unshielded and Shielded Twisted Pair (Category 3-7)
Singlemode and Multimode Optical Fiber
Baseband Coaxial
Broadband Coaxial
Specialized Media Systems

Specializing in the development of structured wiring system and wireless solutions, ATG concentrates on providing standardized, yet flexible solutions specifically tailored to the needs of each customer while accommodating both current and future technologies. Whether for small single-building installations or large campus environments, ATG excels in Building Automation Systems (BAS) integration, outside plant cable, inside plant cable and related infrastructure requirements.

BAS/IBC solutions are typically tailored to provide a high degree of flexibility as well as reliability. Cognizant of technology’s advancements, our engineering process and methodology is based on real and potential requirements, while avoiding unnecessary costs. We believe in standards-based solutions; our engineers are members of Building Industries Consulting Services International (BICSI) and the solutions implemented conform to applicable national, state and local codes. In deploying our implementation standards, we emphasize extensive labeling and testing to ensure future manageability of the system, as well as conformance to known and anticipated technical requirements.

ATG installs IBC Solutions for various environments, including, but not limited to:

Data Centers (Raised Floor)
Communication Rooms (IDF & MDF)
Commercial and Industrial Premises (Inside Plant)
Campus and Inter-building Locations (Outside Plant)

ATG installs IBC Solutions to support the following systems:

Voice/Data LAN/WAN/Wireless Access Controls
Security Process Controls Imaging
Video Paging/Intercom and Sound Public/Private Network Carriers
Fire Alarm EMS/BAS Monitoring Systems

In addition, a variety of IBC schemes can be installed. Thorough training and certification ensures all such systems are implemented in accordance with appropriate standards and, in many cases, qualify our customers for extended warranty coverage up to 20 years.

Data / Voice Communications

On-Site Installation

Installations are handled by an experienced field team, supervised by local managers and supported by centrally located specialists. Our Field Engineers and Technicians are cross-trained in cable plant, wireless systems, server/desktop OS and applications and other common networking technologies. ATG's "one person, multiple mission" approach helps to contain costs and speed project completion.

Circuit Provisioning

ATG will interact with and manage the performance of your preferred telecommunications carrier(s) and ensure that all circuits are installed and available in accordance with the deployment schedule.

Configuration Design and Implementation

Writing network routing configurations is a core competency at ATG. Proficient in networking platforms such as CISCO, Extreme, Foundry, 3Com, Enterasys and others, ATG's engineering team can design, test and deploy custom configurations for single or multi-site networks. Enhanced services such as VPN and VoIP demand a critical level of expertise and ATG is among the world's best when it comes to successful router deployments.

WAN Activation

If you talk to anybody who has ever provisioned a WAN circuit with a telecommunications carrier, they will tell you the actual activation or "turn-up" is always a challenge. Today's carriers have a disparate and confusing set of processes and procedures for circuit activation. The proper coordination and timing of circuit activation is a rare feat. ATG coordinates thousands of carrier activations every year with dozens of carriers in the US. We are experts at ensuring the carriers get their job done at the precise time when it is needed. There is nothing more frustrating than sending installation personnel to deploy a remote site only to discover that the circuit was not activated by the carrier, despite confirmation. ATG knows the pitfalls and can guide a Client to "safety", keeping a project on time and on budget.

Site Audit

The foundation of a reliable network installation, the site audit includes on-site measurements and analyses to determine design factors for the network. The end result of these activities is a formal Site Audit Report which documents the findings and the installation/hardware requirements for the site.

Site Preparation

ATG handles pre-installation activities such as inside and outside plant construction, and electrical moves, additions and changes. Since we directly manage these resources, error rates are minimized, schedules are met and costs are contained can be critical and ATG can customize a program to work with your specific needs. The ATG Logistics team assists the Project Manager with various administrative tasks to support the project installation process: basic order-entry, departmental documentation on current installation projects, staging, kitting, transportation and shipment of materials to project site, configuration of electronic equipment and quality assurance.

Network Test and Commission

A critical part of any deployment is verification that the system, once installed, works as it was intended. ATG is committed to our Clients and demonstrates that commitment by providing a lifetime workmanship warranty. Part of our due diligence during a deployment is to complete a work order checklist with the Client. This checklist may differ from project to project, even site to site but its purpose is the same everywhere, to ensure the system is functioning properly and that the Client is completely satisfied. This process comes standard with everything we do and the results are retained in our archive so that details regarding the original deployment can be referenced if trouble arises. If there is ever a question about our quality, we rectify the situation immediately to the Client's total satisfaction.
